Yoga is an ancient tradition, but its practices are as valuable today as ever. At Santosha Yoga, we keep learning yoga so that we can share its techniques and practices that have been preserved and passed on through generations.

We believe everyone can take part in yoga in some way. Our classes welcome people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds, and we are particularly interested in how yoga can support those facing challenges in life.

Santosha Yoga

Our Aims

We aim to make Yoga available to all in our community through gentle and accessable yogic practices supporting people on a lifelong journey of practice and growth.

We aim to share Yoga with those who are disadvantaged or who may not have considered how Yoga may lift up their spirits at a difficult time.

We aim to preserve and protect the tradition of Yoga which has been handed down to us so that the impacts and benefits of Yoga can be felt by all.

Our vision

We envision the use and practice of Yoga in all areas of modern life leading to improvements in health and wellbeing, relationships and the health of our community.

We envision a public well versed in the understanding of Yoga's most basic techniques so that they look to a regular practice as a support as they navigate the challenges facing the world today.

Our Values

Positive Connection

We establish and hold firm to the following values in all we do

In all our activities we seek to establish and maintain a positive connection. We do this through the practices of Yoga and in our dealings with those we work with and serve.

Accessibility

In all our activities we make sure that we foster and support access to Yoga by all in our community. We do this through our sharing and learning of Yoga with students, friends, collegues and communities. We ensure that in sharing of the gift of Yoga with others we respect their circumstances, abilities and cultural values.

Respect

In all our activities we seek to demonstrate an attitude of respect for the people and environments with which we work. We value diversity by working to create an attitude of respect for the experiences of all we work with.

Regularity

In all our activities we seek to demonstrate that most important yogic practice of regularity. We do this by creating helpful and sustainable patterns in our activities, including the classes we offer, the educational material we share and the collaborative relationships we cultivate.
