A Simple Way to Start or Restart Your Yoga Practice

Many people know Yoga could be beneficial but struggle to know where to begin, how to continue, or whether it is really for them.

This course has been created for people who would like to experience the benefits of regular Yoga practice in a supportive and beginner-friendly environment.

Whether you are completely new to Yoga or returning after time away, you will be guided through simple practices that can help cultivate greater calm, steadiness, mobility, energy, and wellbeing.

Rather than focusing on difficult postures or athletic achievement, we explore practical approaches to movement, breathing, and relaxation that can be applied in everyday life. Rather than focus on learning something we use direct experience as your guide.

Over the course you may discover:

  • Greater ease and relaxation

  • Improved awareness of tension and stress

  • Better movement and comfort in the body

  • Increased energy and mental clarity

  • A practical approach to self-care that fits into daily life

Most importantly, the course provides an opportunity to experience what regular practice can do over time.

Is This Course For Me?

This course is suitable for:

  • Complete beginners

  • People returning to Yoga after a break

  • Those looking for a gentle and accessible approach

  • Anyone interested in creating a healthier routine

Our Commitment

We ask participants to join with a genuine intention to explore Yoga through the 3 week course.

If after attending the first session you decide the course is not right for you, simply let us know and there will be no charge.

Why Learn Yoga?

The benefits of Yoga are most often experienced through regular practice.

This course offers a structured starting point, helping you move beyond simply trying Yoga and towards developing habits that can support your wellbeing long into the future.

Do I have to sign up for all three sessions?

Yes. The three sessions are designed as a single introduction to yoga. Rather than learning lots of theory, you’ll gradually become familiar with a small number of simple practices through regular experience. Most people find that by the end of the course they have a clear sense of whether yoga is something they’d like to continue. If it is, we’ll help you find a way of practising that suits you, whether that’s attending classes or developing a simple home practice.

I’ve done yoga before. What can I expect?

If you’ve practised yoga before, you’ll probably notice that our approach is quite simple. We place less emphasis on achieving postures and more on developing awareness through movement, breathing, relaxation and regular practice. Many people discover aspects of yoga they haven’t previously experienced. We simply encourage you to come with an open mind and allow your own experience to guide you.

Do I need to be flexible or fit?

No. One of the biggest misconceptions about yoga is that you need to be flexible, fit, or experienced before you begin. Yoga starts exactly where you are. Our classes are suitable for beginners as well as those returning to practice, with options that allow you to work comfortably within your own abilities.

What happens in a typical class?

Each class includes gentle movement, simple breathing practices, and guided relaxation. Everything is taught step by step in a calm, supportive environment. There is no expectation to perform or keep up with anyone else. The emphasis is on learning through your own experience rather than achieving particular postures.

What should I wear or bring?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily. If you have a yoga mat, you’re welcome to bring it, although one can usually be provided if needed. A light blanket is recommended for the guided relaxation at the end of class.

What if I have an injury or health condition?

Please let us know before the class begins. Many practices can be adapted to suit different needs and abilities. If you’re unsure whether a class is suitable for you, feel free to contact us before booking and we’ll be happy to discuss your circumstances.

How often should I practise?

Yoga doesn’t depend on long or difficult sessions. Even five or ten minutes of regular practice can be valuable. The real benefits of yoga come through consistency over time. Our aim is not simply to teach a weekly class, but to help you establish a practice that can become a natural part of everyday life.

What happens after the three sessions?

There is no obligation to continue. If you find yoga is helping you, you can continue with regular classes, join our online sessions, or develop a simple home practice using the resources we provide. We’ll help you choose the option that best suits your lifestyle.

Can I join if I’ve missed the first session?

Whenever possible, we recommend starting with the first session so you experience the course as it was designed. If you’ve missed the beginning, get in touch and we’ll let you know whether joining later is appropriate or when the next beginner course will be running.

What are the times, locations and prices?

You’ll always find the latest class times, locations and prices on our booking page. Occasionally we offer early bird pricing for new courses or community events, so if you’re interested it’s worth booking early.

Can I just come along?

Yes. Each month we run a free community introduction class that anyone is welcome to attend, whether you’re completely new to yoga or simply curious about our approach. We do ask that you book beforehand so we know who is coming and can plan the session appropriately.

What if I still have questions?

You’re always welcome to get in touch before booking. Whether you’d like to know more about the classes, discuss your experience, or ask whether yoga is right for you, we’re happy to help.

Benefits of Regular Practice

Drawing from both traditional Yoga teachings and modern evidence bases on relaxation practices, regular Yoga Nidra may help support:

Better Sleep

Many people report improved sleep quality and an easier time settling at night.

Reduced Stress

Guided relaxation can help activate the body’s relaxation response and reduce the effects of chronic stress.

Improved Energy

Paradoxically, deep relaxation often leaves people feeling more energised and refreshed.

Mental Clarity

A settled mind is often better able to focus, make decisions and respond calmly to challenges.

Emotional Balance

Yoga Nidra encourages observation without reaction, supporting greater steadiness during life’s ups and downs.

Sustainable Self-Care

Rather than adding another demanding task to your schedule, Yoga Nidra offers a simple practice that can realistically become part of everyday life.

People feeling stressed or overwhelmed

Busy professionals

Parents and carers

Those returning to Yoga after a break

Complete beginners or anyone wanting a practical relaxation practice

This is not a fitness class.

If you are looking for vigorous exercise or advanced postures, this class may not be the right fit.

The focus is relaxation, awareness and creating sustainable wellbeing through regular practice. While we do offer more dynamic options, we work to promote Yoga to those with a fresh perspective and an open mind.
